(and a bit about my approach to doing readings)
I have had a professional Astrological practice since 1985 and have given
thousands of readings and taught more than 200 classes. I have written
numerous articles that have appeared in both local and national astrological
and spiritual publications.
I have studied astrology and metaphysics since 1964. My mentor and first teacher was my paternal grandfather, Ralph Jones, who had studied astrology and theosophy since the 1920s. I have attended numerous conferences and workshops on astrology as well as other metaphysical and healing subjects. I consider myself to be the eternal student of such things -- always reading and delving into new topics.
My Work History (oh so long ago)
I spent lots of years working in the corporate world, doing my time,
I figure. I have been a bookkeeper, office manager, assistant to a VP,
User Relations Liaison, Professional Meeting Planner and mailroom clerk
(believe it or not, I loved that job). I have worked for Chevron, ISI
(just prior to becoming PeopleSoft), a passive solar company, lots of
car dealerships, and probably a couple I can't remember. I have always
felt that my many and diverse jobs in the "real" business world have
helped me to better understand various client's issues and questions
that are business related.
My Childhood (even longer ago)
I was raised in Northern California, being the oldest girl in a rather
large family (I'm one of six). For the most part, we had a "normal",
and wonderful, childhood. I have lived in several California locations
(with a short stint in Oregon) and now call Mt. Shasta, Ca home. I have
two incredible daughters and two wonderful grandchildren. My 14 year
old and I share our home with our four cats, Buttercup, Faith,
Angelo and Grace and a rescued
dog named Angel (who I'm quite convinced thinks she is a cat).
During a reading, I will most likely focus on your purpose, gifts and offerings. In most readings, we will also discuss your challenges and lessons this lifetime, giving you increased clarity and direction about your Soul's path. I pay particular attention to your Lunar Nodal Axis, an indicator in your natal horoscope of your Soul's purpose and your strong -- even compelling -- inclinations. We'll look at ways to best work with this most important and revealing aspect of your chart. We will also discuss any specific issues or blocks that you are dealing with. Your questions, whether specific or general, are welcome and encouraged both prior and during a session.
I also enjoy doing readings for those going through a significant life challenge and/or transition. I feel astrology is a is a wonderful tool during such times, as it can offer:
- insights into what is going on,
- information as to how the energies are likely to manifest,
- how long it will be influencing you and
- "what it wants of you", meaning, how can you best use the energies.
I believe you will find that the information given in your reading will be grounded and applicable as well as compassionate and insightful. And I try to combine this with common sense and a dash of levity.
